Unless otherwise noted, workshops and meetings take place at the Recreation Hall, Calais Methodist Homes, Palmer St., Calais, Maine (all times are US times).  Remember to pre-register and get a supply list for workshops you're interested in. 

All workshops are open to the public as space permits; pre-registration is a must.

July 2 Wednesday Evening "Mountain Folk" Pot Luck Dinner, 6 pm

The Special Events Committee has come up with a really fun theme for our summer pot luck dinner.  Members of St. Croix and Down East Quilters Guilds and guests are invited to come dressed in hillbilly costumethere will be prizes.  Get ready for lots of laughs and a few surprises, too!

Please bring a dish to share and a quilt or two for show & tell.  If you'd like to participate in one of the unique games, also bring (5) 3" x width of fabric stripsany colors.

July 5 Saturday Workshop, 9 am to 4 pm

Join us for a Quilting Fiesta!  You'll sew an easy scrap quilt, listen to some Salsa music, dine on tasty chili, and help a local food pantry.

Wednesday Business Meeting, 6:30 pm

Mountain Folk Challenge Quilts are due at this meeting for a special Show & Tell.  Program Betsy Ross and her one-snip star.

We'll also have Show & Tell, Fabric Drawing (stars & stripes prints), and Block of the Month Drawing, followed by light refreshments.

August 2 Saturday Workshop, 9 am to 4 pm

Because of our Quilt Show on August 8 & 9, we will not be having a Saturday workshop this month.

Let's continue working on our Double Wedding Ring quilts.  Mary Anne Spearin will continue this popular workshop and show how to sew the melon sets together in an Ssss-shaped row to complete the quilt top.

Join Sue Dible as she teaches the popular Yin-Yang Bag workshop.  Totes, bags, and purses are very popular and Sue has a wonderful, easy pattern to share with us.

Saturday Workshop, 9 am to 4 pm

This month's workshop is devoted to making a quilt for Quilt Pink.  We'll be making a very special pink and white quilt to send to American Patchwork & Quilting magazine for next year's e-bay auction to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  There will be free patterns, instructions, and door prizes, too!
